CLINICAL AND SOCIODEMOGRAPHIC PROFILE OF PATIENTS PRESENTING TO CONSULTATION LIAISON PSYCHIATRY CARE IN A TERTIARY CARE HOSPITAL IN SOUTH KASHMIR

Background: Consultation-liaison psychiatry is a sub specialty of Psychiatry that involves the study, practice and teaching relation between medical psychiatric disorders. There relatively insufficient data studies profile consultation-liaison across developing nations. Aims:To study clinical sociodemographic patients presenting to care in tertiary hospital south Kashmir. Materials & Methods:The present included all who were referred Psychiatric department ,both inpatients as well outpatients ,over period one year from January 2020 December 2020.Data was collected using semi structured pro forma diagnosis made ICD-10 diagnostic criteria. Results:600 our 332 whom females. Majority belonged age group 21-40 residents urban areas. The most common source referrals Cardiology followed by General Medicine. Depressive symptoms suicidal attempts formed majority reasons for referral. established Major Depression Substance Use Conclusion: C L plays significant role bridging gap physical mental illness vital providing an integrated health service patients.
